Environmental and Combustion Controls (ECC) is a strategic business unit in Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). ECC provides integrated product solutions in heating and heating processes, ventilation, cooling and refrigeration, air purification, zoning, humidification, air conditioning, water controls and processes, electrical devices and systems, lighting control, switches, sensors and controllers. Novar's focus is on providing clients as little or as much of a solution as their enterprise requires - from helping them develop their energy management and sustainability strategy, to executing on their behalf a complete national or international turn-key program of equipment, installation / project management, and ongoing managed services.

As a Commercial Engineer (CE) you will be responsible for enhancing Novar's value proposition by providing Energy Management Solution, enterprise system support and product knowledge expertise to our sales team, established customers and prospects for our multi-site focused business. Primary responsibilities include understanding and assessing the customer's business objectives and determining technical solutions that support those objectives. You will also serve as a primary resource for communicating new product developments to the sales force and lead the roll-out of those products to the sales force as well as external customers.

As a C.E. you will
  • function as a selling resource and provide technical leadership in the development of financial based bundled complex service solutions for targeted customers.
  • be responsible for conducting Energy Analysis on customer portfolio of sites to access their current and future energy usage.
  • be responsible for coordinating resources in operations, solutions, IT, external, and sales to effectively deliver proposals on schedule and under budget, as well as manage action items for assigned resources to ensure proper delivery of coordinated product and services offering as directed by Sales Management.
  • work with/under the direction of the Sales Account Manager on specific account opportunities.

The CE is responsible for assisting in the development of new opportunities by calling on multi-site retail focused architectural/engineering firms to specify Novar products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as technical consultant to customers at all levels of the organization on HVAC, energy strategies, and data management
  • Develops and implements enterprise systems solutions to customers
  • Works with Account Managers and the Solution Development Manager to identify revenue generating solutions for existing customers
  • Provides timely and accurate reports to management on activities and customer status
  • Acts as the bridge between product development/marketing and sales. Identifies and escalates product issues back to R&D and product management
  • Rolls out new products and services to customers and the sales force. Leads beta tests of new products and identifies improvement opportunities
  • Train sales force on new technologies, both internal and external to the company

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or 5 years experience in control systems
  • 5 years business experience in HVAC/Refrigeration or energy related field
  • 3 years experience in technical sales

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline
  • MBA or PMP
  • 5 years refrigeration controls experience
  • 3 years experience in control systems
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Leadership experience along with strong organizational and coordination skills with multi-tasking abilities
  • Financial and Business Management aptitude
  • Strong background in HVAC Energy Conservation, Lighting, and Facilities Management
  • Strong product knowledge of legacy Novar technology as well as a thorough understanding of the supermarket multi-site vertical market
  • Experience working with refrigeration OEM’s and Consulting Engineers
  • In depth knowledge of open protocol communications
  • Certified Energy Manager
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)
